On 1st June 1736 Rev John Semple (lic. Route) became minister and the Synod ordered its churches to have a collection to help the Ahoghill people to build their meeting-house. In 1749 Mr Semple moved to Anahilt and was succeeded by Rev James Kerr of Pettigo installed here early in 1753. He died on 18th September 1757.
